Tyre Help in the Heart of the Black Country
Dudley lies roughly six miles south-east of Wolverhampton and eight miles north-west of Birmingham, and the roads that tie those places together run straight through it. The A4123 Birmingham New Road heads north towards Wolverhampton and south-east to the M5 at junction 2, the A461 cuts across the town, and the A459 climbs away north towards Sedgley. Between them is a web of older terraced streets, post-war estates and steep little roads.
Wherever a tyre lets you down in that mix, a mobile fitter can come out to you. We work 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and in most cases aim to arrive within 60 minutes, depending on your exact location and how the traffic is moving on the Birmingham New Road.
A good share of our Dudley call-outs come from people who simply didn't have time to deal with it: a nurse finishing a night shift, a parent with children already strapped in, a driver on the way to a job interview. The fitter turns up, gets on with it and leaves the car ready to drive, so your day can carry on rather than being built around a garage appointment.
How We Sort a Flat in Dudley
You don't have to change the wheel yourself or find a garage that can fit you in. Call or message, tell us roughly what's happened, and we'll send the nearest available fitter from our network of 100+ across England and Wales.
- The fitter arrives with the right size tyre, or repairs the old one if that's safe.
- Balancing is done on the spot at no extra cost.
- Your old tyre is taken away and disposed of for free.
- New tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee, and you settle up by card, cash or bank transfer.
Prices depend on tyre size, brand, time and location, but there are no hidden fees added at the end.
Car, Van and Recovery Services in Dudley
- Mobile tyre fitting: premium, mid-range or budget tyres fitted at home in Kates Hill or Woodside, in a town-centre car park, or at work.
- Puncture repair: if the damage is in the central three-quarters of the tread and no bigger than 6mm, we can usually repair it rather than replace the tyre.
- Van tyres: for the trade and industrial vans working out of the borough's units and yards, fitted wherever the van is parked.
- Breakdown recovery: for a buckled wheel, or a car stranded on a stretch of the A4123 where it isn't safe to work.
Dudley Districts and Neighbouring Towns
We cover the town centre and its surrounding areas, including Kates Hill, Netherton two miles to the south, Dudley Wood, Woodside and Gornal, along with the A4123, A461 and A459 and the M5 approach at junction 2.
The wider borough is covered too. See our pages for Sedgley, Brierley Hill and Halesowen, or West Bromwich over in Sandwell.
Steep Streets and Wet Weather: Mind Your Tread Depth
Parts of Dudley are properly hilly, and a car pulling away up a slope on a wet or frosty morning shows up worn tyres very quickly. The wheels spin, the traction control light flickers, and coming back down, stopping distances grow longer than you'd expect.
The legal minimum is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, but grip in the wet falls away well before that. Most tyres have small raised bars in the bottom of the grooves, called tread wear indicators: when the tread is level with them, it's time for new tyres. Check all four, including the inner edge, which often wears faster and is easy to miss. If the fronts are much more worn than the rears, replace them as a pair so the car stays balanced under braking.
