Between the A12 and the A13: Tyres Fitted in Dagenham
Dagenham is framed by two big trunk roads. The A13 runs along the south of the town and the A12 along the north, and both lead out to the M25, so drivers here are rarely far from a fast road. In between, the A1306 and the Heathway carry local traffic to the town centre, and the long, regular streets of the Becontree estate fill much of the map.
Becontree was built by the London County Council between the wars and is still one of the largest housing estates anywhere, so a great many Dagenham cars are parked on the street outside terraced houses rather than on drives. If you go out to the car and find a flat, there's no need to put the spare on in the road or drive slowly to a garage. We'll send a fitter to you.
Our service runs 24 hours a day, all week, and we aim to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on where you are and the traffic on the A13 and A12.
Why Dagenham Drivers Use a Mobile Tyre Service
A garage visit means booking a slot, taking time off and getting the car there on a damaged tyre. A mobile fitter avoids all three. Here's what to expect:
- You call or message. Give us your street, the vehicle and the size written on the tyre's sidewall if you can.
- The nearest fitter is sent. We work with over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, so help comes from close by.
- The tyre is sorted outside your door. Wheel balancing is free, your old tyre is disposed of for free, and new tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee.
Pay by card, cash or bank transfer when it's done. What you're quoted is what you pay, with no hidden fees.
Services Our Dagenham Fitters Offer
- Mobile tyre fitting: a full range of budget, mid-range and premium car tyres, fitted at the kerb outside your house.
- Puncture repair: when the puncture is small and in the central part of the tread, we repair it so you keep the tyre.
- Van tyres: for vans working out of Dagenham and along the A13 corridor, fitted where the van is parked.
- Breakdown recovery: if a wheel is damaged or you've stopped somewhere on the A12 or A13 that isn't safe to work.
Dagenham Neighbourhoods We Cover
We cover the whole of Dagenham, including the Becontree estate, Becontree Heath, Dagenham Heathway, Dagenham East, Dagenham Dock, Rush Green and Chadwell Heath, as well as the A13, the A12, the A1306 and the A1240.
On the estate streets, it helps to give us the house number or the nearest junction, because many of the roads look alike to someone driving in. Near the industrial land by the river, a unit name or gate number does the same job and gets the fitter to you sooner.
Our fitters are also out every day in the surrounding areas, including Barking to the west and Romford and Hornchurch across the borough boundary in Havering.
The 20p Test: Checking Your Tread at Home
Worn tread is one of the most common reasons a tyre punctures or fails its MOT, and you can check it in a minute without any tools. The legal minimum for a car in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, all the way round.
Take a 20p coin and push it into the main grooves of the tyre. If you can't see the outer band of the coin, there's more than the legal minimum left. If the band is visible, the tyre is close to the limit or below it and should be replaced soon. Try it in three or four places on each tyre, including the inner edge, which is easy to miss when you're standing at the kerb. Most tyres also have small tread-wear bars in the grooves; once the tread is level with them, it's time for a new tyre.
